Apple SensorKit
The SensorKit framework allows researchers to access passively collected movement, environmental, and device interaction data from consenting individuals with iPhones and paired Apple Watches. These metrics can reveal information that may be difficult to measure in a clinical setting or through other digital methods. To protect participant privacy, Apple ensures that SensorKit data is only accessible for legitimate research where sensor data is necessary by requiring the submission of a research proposal which is reviewed before SensorKit authorization.
