After submitting an inquiry on the Contact page, our team meet with you to discuss if your study seems to be a good fit for Gene Doe. If your project does not require custom programming, your study can be set up in REDCap in as little as a few hours once you have finalized the study protocol.
If custom features are needed beyond the features currently supported, allow for time for our team to develop these features, which will vary depending on the complexity of the features.
Once your project has been set up in REDCap, the study will be launched in the Gene Doe app, and your team can conduct a testing period as needed. When necessary edits are made and you are satisfied with the study, the app will be published and ready to enroll participants.

There is currently no fixed licensing fee for Gene Doe—fees are determined on a case-by-case basis. Primary factors considered are the need for custom programming, number of participants, and length of study. Our goal is to get as many projects and as many participants using the platform as possible. An important additional goal is to raise funds for continued development, so preference may be given to projects with a budget. Grants are available for researchers and biomedical students with compelling projects and clear dedication. Learn more about licensing fees and our scholarship program here.
